Norbert Orlewicz, co-founder of MLM Lead System Pro shares what it takes to become a 6/7 figure income earner in the Internet Marketing industry.  You may be surprised to hear that the most essential part of the journey has more to do with attitude, paradigm shifts and personal growth than with the practical steps of business building.

Norbert was able to realise, it was necessary to ‘think and act’ differently if he was to become the type of person who “could” earn a 6/7 figure income.  Let me take you through some of the wisdom that Norbert shared with us on a recent training webinar.

First of all you must realize that marketing online is vastly different to offline marketing strategies.  What you’ve been taught in traditional MLM should be forgotten, and if you have a marketing degree, it is likely that the basic concepts of marketing is all that will apply to you in the world of internet marketing.  You must be willing to throw out the old and embrace the new.

If you’ve been in this industry for more than 5 minutes, you will have heard multiple times that your WHY is the most valuable thing to you and the success of your business.  It is the reason for persisting through the ups, downs and struggles of your business.  When you have a strong enough ‘why‘, you will notice that the ‘how‘ is insignificant.  Remember that your WHY makes up 70% of your business – the HOW is only 30%.

Everyone begins their online marketing business with varying skillsets, backgrounds and levels of education.  You must be willing to begin right now, at whatever level you are at.  Your level of success and time in which you reach that level, is your own responsibility.  How long it takes depends on the time and effort you are willing to invest in developing yourself and learning the necessary skills to effectively build your business.

Have you ever heard things like, “You will never earn more than your learn…” or “Your income is in direct proportion to your level of personal development”?. If you intend earning a 6/7 figure income, it is guaranteed that you MUST continually invest in personal and business development.

Goal Setting

Setting goals should cause some degree of pain and discomfort, thus causing growth! When setting goals, you must do more than just write them out and read them daily. You must ACT on your goals if you truly wish to accomplish them.  We’re not talking magic and fairy dust here!

Review and reflect on your goals regularly – what has worked or not worked for you in the past?  Look at your good and bad decisions.

Think of your goals as a byproduct or EFFECT.  The CAUSE of that effect is YOU!  The issue is never a lack of time, money or education, it’s always you. Too many people struggle and fail because they focus on what they believe to be the problem instead of work on themselves.

Ask yourself – what do I need to BECOME to achieve this goal? I believe in setting activity goals, rather than goals which are outside of your control.

eg.  Instead of “I sponspor 4 new people into my organisation each and every week”, try an activity goal like, “I contact 40 new people per week.”

Think Gratitude & Abundance

To create an abundant mindset, start by ‘feeling’ grateful and appreciate what you have today. Practice gratitude, give thanks daily and you will begin to attract more of those things in abundance.

Your external life will always mirror your internal life.  Whatever you feel inside will reflect and show up in your present circumstances in your life.  In order to become a 6/7 figure earner you first must feel and ACT like one.  Like attracts like.

The late Jim Rohn once said that gratitude is what starts the receiving process.

Visualisation

Begin to act ‘as if’ you have already achieved your goals.  Visualise daily and actually see yourself as this 6/7 figure earner – FEEL what it feels like to be that person.

Make visualisation a part of your daily routine.  No need to set aside 1/2 hour a day just to integrate into your life.  While you are taking a shower, brushing your teeth, washing up etc.

Tip: Put a reminer note in the bathroom or at the sink until it becomes habit that you visualise at this time of the day.

So lets recap what you must do to become a successful 6/7 figure income earner in 2010.

1.  Have a really strong WHY;

2.  Be willing to invest in yourself;

3. Live in a state of gratitude;

4.  Create an abundance mindset;

5. Review, set goals and act;

6.  Work more on yourself than on your business;

7.  Visualise and act ‘as if’ on a daily basis.

The point is, successful people have learned to work more on themselves than their business and do not focus on their problems.

These days, individuals are seeking out information about Network Marketing as a means to working from home, owning their own business, creating extra income or to establish a residual monthly income.  As an industry, network marketing is becoming increasingly popular with so many more people showing a desire to learn about the opportunities it presents.

New companies are starting throughout the world on a weekly basis, though not all companies are created equal.  There are many variations in business models, the way they’re structured, their marketing and compensation plan, their industry and products which makes them all very different and unique.

Whether you’ve been introduced to the network marketing industry via  a particular company or product or you are actively looking for a company to get started with, there are numerous factors that you should consider.

Naturally, you may be drawn to a company based on your interests and prior experience.  For example, if you love to travel and do so a lot, a travel based MLM opportunity may be a great fit for you personally.  You may be more interested in a company which offers a wider range of products and services from various industries.  If you prefer to have an involvement in more specialised and professional services, there is a solution for you too.

Level of Commitment

If searching for a Network Marketing company, it is really important that you know exactly ‘what’ you want to achieve.  Some companies will suit your time availability more than others with less time required to market your opportunity successfully.  While some people are out to make a quick buck or small fortune fast, other people are more focused on creating a lifestyle through network marketing and are focused on their retirement.  There are network marketing companies which have compensation plans to match either commitment level.

Be aware however that you will only get out of your business what you are willing to put in.  In other words, do not expect massive bonus cheques if you are only willing to work 5 hours a week on yourself and your business.  Some companies will claim that is all that is required but don’t get suckered into that mindset.

Goals and Dreams

It’s important to have a grasp on your goals and dreams and to know what you really want out of life.  And ask yourself if the company you are considering is in line with your ambitions.  Some will be and others won’t.  Forget the hype and all the fluff presented on their opportunity overview and really assess what the company, products, services and opportunity can do for you realistically.  Will you be able to commit to it long enough to achieve your dreams and maintain that level of success?  If you doubt this, perhaps there is a better opportunity for you.

Company Integrity and Credibility

If you fit the category of people who are looking to create long term passive income, you’ll want to ensure the company will still be around in years to come.  While the future is sometimes unforeseeable, companies who have been established for more than 5 years shows a sign of stability, credibility and commitment to service and success of their distributors.  This does not mean to say the very attractive ground floor opportunities and newly formed MLM companies are not legit, but they do not offer the confidence and security of a well established company with a proven track record.

It’s important to know that some companies are only in it for the short-term to make a lot of money from excited ‘opportunity seekers’ then they disappear.  Many of these companies go to great lengths to cover up their ‘pyramid scheme’ to make it look like a legitimate network marketing company.  My advice is to listen to your gut feeling and ask lots of questions about the company.  Trying to separate the hype from the reality can be difficult but it’s your responsibility to do the research.

Be sure to make up your own mind and don’t be pressured into anything.  Only associate yourself with a company you are happy and proud to be associated with.
